Our blog posts will consists of updates, what God is doing around us, what God is teaching us, the highs & the lows, and prayer requests. So a little bit of everything.
As of now, Garrett and I are still in the search for an apartment in Boston. We feel like we have been searching and searching. There have been some awesome places we have found, but each time it has fallen through. Sometimes it is easy to look at this and get discouraged. But, we trust that God will put us in the exact home that will be exactly what we need. He is the one who has gotten us this far and He continues to provide and take care of us. I know I have personally been struggling with this. It is always easy to trust God with certain things, lately I have been having to constantly ask God to remind me of His faithfulness. I’m realizing that we are in a season of having to solely rely on the Lord and not our ways. And this is only the beginning, He wants our whole life to be dependent on Him, as it should be. Another thing the Lord has been reminding me of, which I have shared in a newsletter before, is that Boston is not my home. Russellville is not my home either. My home is with Jesus and when I have Jesus, I can live anywhere and be content. He is our home, our refuge, our defender, and strong tower.
A lady at church last week shared Psalm 138:8 with me.
“The LORD will accomplish that which concerns me; Your [unwavering] lovingkindness, O LORD, endures forever— Do not abandon the works of Your own hands.” (AMP)
Whatever God has called us to and anything that concerns us, He will perfect and accomplish. He cares about the things we care about even a silly apartment. I know someday we’ll look back on this moment and praise God for bringing us through this. We will give the glory to Him for being a faithful Father who will not abandon us. And this won’t be our last trial. This is just the start to many trials and a time to see what our faith is really made of.
Reflection time: is there a season of waiting that you are going through where you need to be reminded of God’s faithfulness? Is there seasons you can look back to and thank God for taking care of you? Is Jesus your home? I believe these seasons shape us and strengthen our faith!
We are grateful that we get to share our lives with y’all.
Lord, thank you so much for being the only firm foundation we can build on. I pray that anything else that we are trying to take faith in and stand on will fall through if it is not You. You are worth everything and to You we owe it all. Thank You for Your constant grace and Your love that You shower on us when it is hard to see the light. If going through seasons of uncertainty cause us to trust in You more, let us have those seasons. You are a Father who cares about us. If You can take care of the birds of the air and lilies in the field, how much more will You take care of us? Amen.
